Ryan Egli is a Consultant with Asset Performance Canada, based out of the company’s office in Calgary, Alberta. Prior to joining the company, Ryan worked for several engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies on major capital projects and turnarounds for upstream sour gas plants and field installations in the Central and Northern Alberta regions. He possesses extensive experience in major equipment design, piping design, procurement, and project management.

As a part of AP-Canada, Ryan plays an active role in helping clients achieve near-term readiness and performance gains for upcoming turnaround events, while also helping clients to strengthen their turnaround organization for long-term improvement and success. Throughout Turnaround Assist Programs (T-AP), Integrated Turnaround Assist Programs (iT-AP), and Risk Based Scope Reviews (RBSR), Ryan helps clients break free of historical “how it’s always been done” processes in pursuit of industry-leading results. Through rigorous scope review, he has helped clients make significant cuts to turnaround costs and schedule duration.

During his time as a contract engineer, Ryan was involved in planning and executing numerous successful turnarounds. He has worked large-scale oil field projects, as well as surface and in-situ oil sands operations, with a focus on project management, process optimization, and operations support. His responsibilities have seen him coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines, manage sub-contractors and construction firms, and work as a liaison between project teams in order to maintain project schedules and reduce costs. Additionally, Ryan has handled design reviews, HazOps, and commissioning of process units at sites including Shell Caroline and Husky Rainbow Lake.

Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
